This book is a work of fiction. Characters, names, places and incidents either are the product of the author’s imagination or are used fictitiously, and any resemblance to any actual persons, living or dead, events, or locales is entirely
coincidental. This series is dedicated to my amazingly beautiful sisters, Kathryn Sturgis & Ricolle Williams. You ladies know these characters as well as I do. Whenever I’m feeling like a crappy writer, both of you are there to tell me otherwise. Thank you so much for bringing these characters into my life.
Book One
Samantha Utley
Prologue
-Samuel Utley
“Samuel. As you know, your daughter will be celebrating
her twenty-first birthday later this evening…” Gabriel
began to say and I could tell where this conversation was
going. “I am aware she is your princess and hate putting
your foot down, but the time has come for you to.
Samantha is old enough to take on her responsibilities
concerning our tribe. You have stated yourself that you
will not be around forever.”
I nodded in agreement. He was right. I wasn’t going to
be around forever and now is the time for Sammy to step
up and contribute to our family. We have given her
plenty of space to grow up. It was time for her to come
home. My only son, Evan, has offered to take over Samantha’s
responsibilities. Gabriel insisted he focus on what he
was born to do…protect his twin sister, Erin.
“You’re absolutely right, brother…” I began to speak.
“Sammy is over-due to come home. I want you to watch
over her and Maddison at the club tonight. Be sure to
take Collin with you. She may remember him once she
sees him if she hasn’t repressed too much of her
memories.”
He nodded politely and left the house with Collin
following him.
It may have been a few years, but I still knew my
daughter well enough to say that she was going to be
beyond pissed once she sees Gabriel. Collin…not so
much since she has always held a soft spot for him. Sammy was going to be furious and possibly hate me for
the rest of my life, but I honestly couldn’t wait to see my
little girl again.
Chapter One
“Maddison, it’s my birthday and I plan on getting
wasted.” I said with a huge devilish grin on my face as
our waitress set a bunch of shots down in front of us.
Maddie slowly peeled her eyes away from her phone.
“Huh? What? Oh I’m not drinking tonight Sammy.”
I wanted to ask her who the hell was more important
than me since she wasn’t get wasted, but I knew there
had to be a reason. “What in the hell do you mean you’re
not going to party and get drunk with me tonight?
Maddie, you’re my best friend why won’t you get drunk?
It’s not like you’re pregnant.” I said trying to be my usual
smart ass self, slamming a few shots of rum.
“Yes Sammy. As a matter of fact, I am.” She said as she
looked anywhere but my face. I felt angry. She was my best friend and we’ve always
shared everything together. We never kept secrets, but I
wasn’t ready for that to come flying out of her mouth.
“Holy shit Maddison! How far along are you?” I
wondered as a hand pulled on my arm.
I mouthed an apology to Maddie as the sexy drunken
man dragged me out on the dance floor.
Hell…I’m single, it’s my birthday and I’m here to have
the best time ever!
The stranger was tall, slender, and very drunk. He slid
his hands all over me as we danced. It has been a few
weeks since I got lucky.
“Screw it.” I said aloud to myself, grinding my hips into
him as we moved together. I allowed him to slide his hand to my breasts and feel me
up. As much as I hated to admit, I was starting to enjoy
his touch.
Oh yeah…I am definitely getting some birthday sex
tonight!
While we moved to the music, I could feel eyes burning
though me all the way to the core of my soul. For a
moment, I had forgotten about my drunken dance
partner and began looking for those eyes when I saw
him sitting there in the far dark corner.
I was quickly pulled back in to reality when my dance
partner slid his hands up my thighs and up my skirt,
feeling his warm fingers making their way inside my sex
and start to wiggle against my walls. Closing my eyes, I
moaned as my back relaxed against his chest.

-Gabriel Utley
I couldn’t take seeing my brother so upset while
watching the love of his life, Samantha, get taken
advantage of in such a public place.
Collin stood up from our table. I thought he was going to
kick the guy’s ass and take Sammy away from the jerk
who was trying to screw her on the damn dance floor. “I
can’t take watching this fucking guy do that to her. I can
see everything that is supposed to be underneath her
skirt.”
I made my way over to them, bumping into people as I
strode. I happen to be built like a tank and walking
through a crowd wasn’t easy for me.
Feeling a few hands grab my ass, I ignored the flirtatious
calls and continued to make my way over to Sammy. I
was a man on a mission for my brother. It didn’t take a genius to see how pissed off Collin was
being forced here against his will to watch over
Samantha and Maddison as a personal favor to our
brother, Samuel. I could see how bad he loved and
craved her. It must be killing him to watch her prance
around with other men and nearly fucking them in a
crowd.
I pulled the guy off Samantha. “Hey, that will be enough.
She is drunk and definitely not going home with you
tonight. I forbid it.”
Intervening wasn’t something I usually did, but when it
came to family and safety…you can bet your ass I will!
I could feel Sammy’s eyes trying to burn a hole through
me. I sensed she wasn’t going to go with me willingly.
How the hell am I going to get her to leave with me?
She was so stubborn just like her father, it was s
cary. I leaned down and whispered in her ear the favor she
asked me for when she was just getting her breasts. She
begged for them to just come in already. Me being the
sweetheart I was with my incredible gifts, I helped only
to request a favor from her at a later time. “Samantha,
it’s later. Time to go back home and you will be joining
me on this trip. I am not asking you…I’m telling you.
You owe me.”

-Samantha Utley
Gabriel pulled me away from my only chance for
birthday sex. He threw a punch and the guy hit the floor
with a thud.
“Where in the hell do you think you’re taking me?!” I
yelled as Mister-Macho carried me out of the club. “Put
me down!” He placed me on my feet, giving me a chance to
straighten my now-sobered self.
“What are you doing here, Gabriel?” I growled, seeing as
how my birthday sex now has a broken jaw.
“Samantha Emilia Utley, you should be ashamed of
yourself!” He barked at me. “If your parents really knew
where you were…” he cut himself off.
I folded my arms over my chest. “My parents don’t give a
damn about me. All they care about is their precious
princess. Wait...I’m sorry…her majesty, the queen.”
“Are you ever going to let that go?” He asked.
I growled at him again, trying my damnedest not to
phase due to being in a public place. “Hell no I’m never
going to let it go! Do you think it is easy being specially
made for someone who doesn’t even want you? Every physical and internal detail was destined to be
yours…but just like everyone else, you loved Erin more!”
“Nobody loves Erin more. We love you all the same.” He
informed me.
“Don’t give me that bullshit, Gabriel!” My body growing
hot for a few moments and then cooling down after
sensing there was a legit reason for him being here.
“What do you want with me?”
“It’s been what, four years since you’ve left home? Emily
and Sam miss you. I may have no room to talk on how to
treat family, but you should pay a visit to your parents.
Your mother is having a rough time and they need you.”
He said.
I couldn’t help but snort. “Why would they need me?
They have you, Erin, and Evan…one big, happy family.” He narrowed his eyes at me, one of the facial
expressions he made when he was deathly serious. “They
need you because you are your mother’s only daughter.”
Even though I knew he was right, my eyes systematically
rolled in annoyance. Yes, it’s true that I was my mother’s
only biological daughter. Erin and Evan are my half
siblings…one could say that my dad is a bit of a horn
dog.
On my first birthday, my father broke the news of
knocking up another woman to my mother. He couldn’t
help himself and had to have her was his excuse. My
mother was absolutely furious…at first. That is, until the
darling twins were born and caused her to have a change
of heart.
Erin and Evan have been in the limelight of my parents
since the day they were born. I had to undergo years of therapy to undo the internal damage of having to deal
with them being mommy and daddy’s favorites.
For a girl who had siblings not even two years younger
than she was, I spent most of my time completely alone.
I couldn’t stand seeing my parents praise them over
every little thing. My therapist taught me that I cannot
control the actions of other people; I can only control my
own and I should live my life the way I want, not my
parents.
“Sammy, please let me take you to Emily and Sam.”
Gabriel’s voice spoke, pulling me out of my thoughts.
“I hate to burst that royalty bubble of yours, but I’m
never going back home.” Were my final words to him as
I strolled away, shaking my head as if it would make the
entire conversation vanish. Maddison’s car stopped in front of me and I opened the
passenger door. “Thank you so much for rescuing me.”
Sliding into the car, my muscles started to relax.
“What in the world did Gabriel want?” She asked while
speeding off towards my condo.
I sighed, leaning my head against the seat. “The usual.
Wanting me to come back home.”
My eyelids felt like weights. Every time I drank too
much, it didn’t take me long to pass out.
Chapter Two
The next morning, I woke up to a massive headache.
Grumbling as I rolled over, my head pounded as my
brain tried to process the memories from last night. I
could barely remember Maddie driving me home.
Ugh…why do I always have to drink so much on my
birthday?
I peeled myself out of bed after my vision unclouded and
stumbled my way into the kitchen.
“Mmm…coffee.” I said as my fingers touched the pot
handle.
“You better be making enough for me.” A female voice
spoke.
Even though her voice had been familiar, that didn’t
stop me from almost jumping out of my skin. “Dammit
Maddison!” looking over at her, surprised to see her belly so massive. I must have been drunk as hell to not
remember seeing that last night.
Her smile illuminated the room as she placed a hand on
her abdomen. “I know. Doesn’t my baby girl look
fabulous?”
“How in the hell did you get big so fast? Were you this
big last night?” I caught a whiff of her scent and the
baby’s. “Oh hell no! Please tell me he didn’t!” growling at
the familiar stench.
“Before you get angry, it wasn’t all his fault. I was the
one who pursued him and he couldn’t resist.” She tried
to convince me, but my temper wasn’t buying it.
“That’s it. I have had it with that man!” storming into my
bedroom, I threw on some clothes. “Maddison. Home.
Now.”
**** I stormed into my father’s garage, pulled him out from
under the hood of one of his cars, and slammed him up
against the wall. “It wasn’t enough to get one mistress
pregnant?! Maddison is my best friend! What in the hell
are you trying to do, knock up every damn woman in
town?!”
Evan quickly wheeled himself out from under the car
and stood up. “Hey! Sammy! Knock it off!”
“Sammy, please calm down.” Maddison pleaded.
My eyes glared into his. He was taken by surprise and
scared. Damn right…he better be fucking scared!
“Sammy…I…I’m sorry.” He finally spoke in defeat.
“You’re not sorry you dumb son of a bitch!” I growled,
tightening my grip on him. Evan growled at me. “Sammy! Let him go! Now!”
dropping the tool he had in his hand to rush over
towards us.
I released my grip on his throat and stormed out of the
garage, phasing as I ran.
Usually the air breezing through my fur calmed me
down, but today was a whole different stor
y. My so
called father knocked up my best friend.
Maddison was the one person from around here that I
trusted. She knows everything…from my favorite movie
to the color of my fur. When my parents warned me that
I may lose a friend if I let her too close, I took that risk
because I knew that she wouldn’t leave.
I knew that wasn’t the case because Maddie had kept
some secrets of her own. She’s a vampire and has some
extraordinary gifts. There isn’t anything she can’t do.
She’s my magical Maddie. Now she was pregnant with what, my half-sister?! Why
can’t my father learn how to control what’s in his damn
pants?!
I sat at the edge of the cliff, looking out onto the water.
Why in the world did I even come back here? Why
should I care so much about the people who don’t even
care about me?
“We care about you, Sammy. You are just too stubborn
to see it.” I heard the alpha’s voice in my head.
“Go away Gab-Gab.” I thought, not turning back to see
him.
His outrageously bigger wolf-form sat next to me,
casting a shadow. “Nobody here hates you. Why do you
act like we do?”
“I could be gone for an entire century and not one of
you would notice. You’ve made it clear that I do not fit into this perfect world that you created.” I stared out
onto the water.
“Samantha Emilia Utley, you are a valuable piece to
this family. You have major responsibilities here, but
your father and I feel that you are not ready for them
just yet. For the past few years, we have allowed you to
live your life the way you wanted. What more could a
girl ask for?” He snorted.
I flopped down onto the ground. “I don’t want to talk
about this anymore…” closing my eyes, wishing that this
family drama would just go away.
****
I woke up expecting to still be in wolf form, laying on a
cliff. My eyes popped open at the unusual scent of
breakfast. As soon as my brain processed that I was no longer in
the woods, I pulled myself out of bed and down the
stairs. I still felt a little hung over from the other night.
“There she is. Good morning sleepyhead.” My mother’s
overly perky voice practically chirped once she saw me.
I groaned a little. “Morning…” greeting her as I poured
myself some coffee. Feeling my father’s eyes blazing at
